The subtle art of giving a f**k

Updated: Oct 7, 2023

Yeah, I'm still using my flashy, fun titles! Maybe some of you will say that I'm lacking inspiration! But I think the opposite is true.

Cause what is inspiration? It's a combination of knowledge, experience, and the interaction between these elements to synthesize and reinterpret them, allowing you to come up with your own ideas, or these kinds of titles.

By the way, I agree with Mark Manson when he says we should stop trying to be positive all the time, and avoid this hunt for positive thinking and the Let'S-All-Feel-Good mindset. If you've read the book, you know what I'm talking about. But don't worry, I'm not going to rewrite or summarize Mark's book. I've simply chosen the title and adapted it to my article.

If you are a marketer or business owner you should probably know that the most import thing in your business is your clients, cause without them you’re just gambling. But strangely enough, very few people give a f**k about their audience or their clients. They prioritize their product, the business and all the shitty stuff, and they put their audience at the end of Maslow Pyramid (business version). I don’t know if there is a business version for Maslow Pyramid, if not so maybe one of you should do it. At least you gonna have your name in Wikipedia. A few stories to tell your father-in-law to impress him, because, believe me, it's going to be hard, especially if you spend your days on TikTok.

So let's get down to business!

Here are 3 key strategies to genuinely care and give a f**k about your audience:

1- Offer valuable content: No one care about your story, about your business strategy or how you made your first million! But everyone looks out for themselves, for their career, their life. So, If you give people what they want, they'll give you or your business attention in return, and you can do it for free, it just takes time.

Here are some examples of value or content you can provide:

  • Create high-quality content that educates,

  • Entertains, and solves your audience's problems.

  • Provide valuable insights, tips, and resources through blog posts, videos, podcasts, or social media updates. It start by identifying and studying your target market

2-Conduct thorough market research: The key to understand your audience and effectively meeting their needs. Start by defining and studying your target market based on demographics, such as age, gender, location, income level, and occupation. You can also use surveys, interviews, and analytics tools to gather data and gain insights into their behavior and motivations.

3-Personalize your messaging: Start by dividing your audience into specific segments based on common characteristics, interests or behaviors. This segmentation allows you to create more targeted and personalized messages for each group.

Use the data you've collected to personalize your marketing messages and offers for each group. Tailor your content, product recommendations and promotions to their specific interests and needs.

This shows that you value your audience as individuals and understand their specific needs.

This personalized approach can lead to higher conversion rates and customer loyalty.

Understand that if your audience is not connecting with you or paying attention to your product or business is completely your fault. The best way to grow is by being accountable, and start to make a change.

Now that you have these tools and tips at your disposal, you have no excuses for not implementing the right strategy and maximizing your chances of getting a real audience for your business.
